Raptor Education Group, Inc. (REGI) along with the Ferry Bluff Eagle Council held an eagle release on Sunday, January 7th.  Residents were delighted to attend this amazing event and view it from their warm bus!  Marge Gibson, Director of REGI, released four eagles that day.  Three were less than a year old and had fallen from their nests and injured themselves; the last one was a two-and-a-half-year-old male who was treated for severe lead poisoning.  The seniors were overjoyed when Marge brought the older male eagle on the bus!  It was incredible to see an eagle that close!  Special thanks to Marge for accommodating us, and to REGI and the Ferry Bluff Eagle Council for all the work they do to protect the birds in the area.  To view pictures, please click on the web album.
