August and September gave folks lots of opportunities to get out and about. In August they took a trip to Habermann Park in Lodi for a picnic and raptor program presented by the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center. It was fascinating to see birds like a bald eagle and peregrine falcon up close. Thanks to the Lodi Public Library for sponsoring this great summer program. In September The Pines joined two other ElderSpan-managed residences for a picnic at Merrimac Memorial Park with music and dancing, bingo and pontoon boat rides on Lake Wisconsin. September 10-16 was National Assisted Living Week and there were theme days like Hat Day and Crazy Sock Day, plus musical entertainment, ice cream for all from Vesperman Farms ice cream truck, and a Share Day when folks shared items near and dear to their heart. The month ended with a Packer party and a scenic bus trip. To view photos, please click on the web album link below.
